The Ultimate Destiny for Voiceless
SARVAM
An animal rehabilitation center run by the
Walking Eye Foundation for Animal Advocacy
Walking Eye Foundation is primarily focused on the advocacy and implementation of animal rights across the state of Kerala. Our main motive is to facilitate a healthy and pleasant living atmosphere for all stray animals. Our vibrant team of volunteers is actively engaged in the rescue and rehabilitation of injured animals throughout the state. We are a non-profit organization that works entirely on public donations. Till now we have rescued and rehabilitated 300+ injured animals and found forever homes for 100+ hopeless lives a forever home. We run a shelter named “SARVAM” that holds 130+ injured abandoned paralyzed dogs. We are dedicated to working for the betterment of animals everywhere and reducing animal suffering.
The landscape of SARVAM includes facilities for Paralyzed, blind, old, puppies, abandoned, and surrendered dogs. We mainly focus on dogs as the number of suffering dogs, especially strays are shooting up daily. We are launching our website wefaaindia.org.in in the public domain very shortly and all our activities will be linked and carried out through the website only. The facilities at SARVAM have been shifted from Kattoor Irinjalakkuda to a new land at Akamala, Wadakkanchery, Thrissur recently. Our shelter SARVAM runs on a rented land of 1.25 acres with 800 sqft staff quarters in Akamala, Wadakkanchery, Thrissur 680623. SARVAM holds 126 dogs including paraplegic, old, blind, handicapped, and abandoned dogs.
We have a built-up area of 7000 sqft where healthy dogs are freely roaming, a few kennels in the treatment area, and a separate area for paraplegic dogs. All our dogs are vaccinated for distemper/parvovirus and anti-rabies also. All our female dogs and a couple of male dogs are sterilized and the process of sterilization is going on. We are utilizing the facility in Thrissur Pet Clinic, a private veterinary hospital for ABCs. We have an animal ambulance for rescues and transporting dogs to hospitals for treatment. We feed chicken and rice twice a day with chicken and rice. We run our facility entirely through donations and monthly contributions from our WhatsApp group. Sometimes people will celebrate their special occasions with our shelter inmates by sponsoring meals to our furry friends. We charge them for the same. We have a facility to surrender owner dogs when the owner is not capable of handling them anymore. Two options are available one is a monthly payment and the other is a one-time payment.
